Power outage in Moore; crews working on determining cause and restoration

UPDATE: At 4:30 p.m. OG&E was reporting power is restored to the affected area. The cause of the outage remains unknown at this time.


UPDATE: At 3:45 p.m. OG&E was reporting the outage is affecting 9,777 customers, with 1,731 of those customers within the City of Moore.

Around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, Oklahoma Gas and Electric alerted area residents to a power outage affecting Oklahoma City and Moore.

Over 6,000 people are without power as OG&E work to determine the cause and restore power. No estimation when power will be restored has been made.

OG&E announced the outage on their facebook page.

“We have a large outage in southwest Oklahoma City (including Moore) affecting approximately 6,000 customers,” the announcement said. “No known cause or restoration time yet. You can monitor the status of your outage and get updates by signing in to your account at oge.com.”
